Mozilla reveals more about Firefox Mobile OS, coming in 2013
Mozilla are about to enter an unfamiliar market to them, that of mobile operating systems. The new Firefox OS is based on Linux and Gecko and
contains prety much what you would expect from a modern platform. According to Mozilla's claims, their OS will be lighter and faster than what the competition has to offer, and it will also be more open than Google's Android. Firefox OS will hit the market in 2013 first in Latin America and could spread to the rest of the world shortly after in the near future.
