New features revealed from Windows Phone 8 SDK leak

Earlier today an early build of Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 SDK leaked. Many people have been going over the leaked SDK files, revealing a number of previously unannounced features for the mobile OS.

According to WPCentral, the SDK will allow developers to add voice command features in their Windows Phone 8 apps. "For example, a user using the Contoso Widgets app could press the Start button and say "Contoso Widgets, show best sellers" to both launch the Contoso Widgets app and navigate to a 'best sellers' page, or some other action that the developer specifies."

With Windows Phone 8 also comes the ability for apps to auto upload content in the background, a very convenient feature for photo and video apps. The new OS will also feature what Microsoft is calling Lenses: "special camera apps that can provide enhanced camera functionality such as effects, filters, and computational photography."

Other features coming to Windows Phone 8 devices include peer-to-peer file sharing, improved Bluetooth features, and some new Map features like the ability to download maps for offline use.
