Mozilla firefox 64bit will not be available for Windows 8.

Mozilla announced that it's closing the development of Firefox for the Windows 8 platform.

Earlier this month, Mozilla announced that its HTML5-based Firefox mobile operating system would be put into some low end smartphones starting in early 2013 in Brazil. Now, according to Mozilla, anyone with a Windows, Linux or Mac PC can check out and test early builds of Firefox OS.

Mozilla reveals more about Firefox Mobile OS, coming in 2013

Mozilla are about to enter an unfamiliar market to them, that of mobile operating systems. The new Firefox OS is based on Linux and Gecko and contains prety much what you would expect from a modern platform. According to Mozilla's claims, their OS will be lighter and faster than what the competition has to offer, and it will also be more open than Google's Android. Firefox OS will hit the market in 2013 first in Latin America and could spread to the rest of the world shortly after in the near future.

Mozilla release Firefox 14, available for download now

Mozilla is steamrolling ahead with its browser updates and Firefox 14 has just made its appearance and is available for download. This update brings four new features: Google searches now utilize HTTPS, full screen support for Mac OS X Lion is implemented, plugins can now be configured to only load on click (requires an about:config change) and the Awesome Bar now auto-completes typed URLs. Included in the new version are many bug fixes. The entire change-log is here.

Mozilla has been increasing version numbers at a faster and faster rate but not everyone seems to enjoy this new direction. Google also participates in this version number race with its Chrome browser, while Microsoft is sticking to the traditional platform updates.
