Mozilla is steamrolling ahead with its browser updates and Firefox 14
has just made its appearance and is available for download. This update brings four new features: Google searches now utilize HTTPS, full screen support for Mac OS X Lion is implemented, plugins can now be configured to only load on click (requires an about:config change) and the Awesome Bar now auto-completes typed URLs. Included in the new version are many bug fixes. The entire change-log is
here.
Mozilla has been increasing version numbers at a faster and faster rate but not
everyone seems to enjoy this new direction. Google also
participates in this version number race with its Chrome browser, while Microsoft is sticking to the
traditional platform updates.
