Samsung sells more than 10 million Galaxy S III phones

The Android 4.0 smartphone, which launched in Europe on May 29 and in the US in June has now sold more than 10 million units worldwide in less than two months. By contrast, the Galaxy S II took five months to reach the 10 million sales mark after its launch in May 2011. The sales came mostly from Europe and Asia though, as the US didn't get the Galaxy S II until September 2011.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Shin Jong-kyun, the president of Samsung's information technology and mobile communication division, said that the Galaxy S III has now broken the 10 million unit mark. He was not more specific than than in terms of sales numbers.
