Craig Mundie, the Microsofts chief reasearch and strategy officer is interviewed, explaining what happened in the past and the company "slowed down" and what to expect in the years to come since its astonishing come back.
According to the invterview, Craig Mundie claims that the company went through a difficult period the last 10 years, due to the fact that criminal activity in cyberspace, started to occur aiming directy on Microsoft.
As Microsoft reigned the market,this made her much more of a target to its competitors. So the company slowed down and started focusing on security engineering. He gave an example to support his statement that this was the issue why the "Windows vista project" took too long to come to the market.
So now that the company stands up again, Making up the Windows 8 OS, including the Microsoft surface, The windows azzure cloud, WP7 & WP8 smart phones,tablets etc. (all these great stuff), Caches up tis Competitors (Apple and Google).
For the next years to Come, the Microsofts chief reasearch stated, that Computer systems will change to the direction of more dynamic machines with their own intelligence, in order to be more helpfull to the public that uses them.
Using voice recognition and a variety of sensors that will change the way of interaction. Just imagine a senario of asking a question or a task request and the computer been able to respond or do a variety of things ! An interesting concept !
