Microsoft announced Skype for Windows 8 !

Microsoft prepares the new Skype software for its new operating system (Windows 8) with many features such as full-screen calls, push notifications and People Hub integration.

Actually its an optimized version of Skype for Win 8. Based on the Windows 8 API, it  looks and feels just as other windows 8 applications. All gestures are working as far as for touchscreen control. For instance,  you can swipe from left to right to see different categories, such as recent activity, favorites , a complete contacts list etc.

Calling experience has changed a bit. You now can link your Skype and Microsoft account, so that when you log into your system using your Microsoft ID, you'll already be logged into Skype. Also while on a call, you can use the whole screen during video chats , where also chat messages from that person will show up as text bubbles on the side of the screen. At any time, you can swipe to see other recent activity, which could be handy if you're having multiple conversations at once.

The Specially modified interface will make it easier to start, and call buddies of yours, as will have easier touch menu.

The application will be available for free in the Windows Store on October 26th.
