South Pole is on Street view

Google managed to bring Street View to many locations in Antarctica including the ceremonial South Pole and Telescope, with the help of the Polar Geospatial Center at the University of Minnesota and the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust. But the company has gone one step further, providing you the ability to look inside both Shackleton's and Scott's huts which were used in the early 20th century by the explorers and have been preserved almost perfectly.

According to Google these high quality images were taken on a lightweight tripod with fisheye lens.

"Schoolchildren as far as Bangalore can count penguin colonies on Snow Hill Island, and geologists in Georgia can trace sedimentary layers in the Dry Valleys from the comfort of their desks," Google said.
