Monster quad-core HTC phone with 1080p screen flaunts class-leading benchmarks

HTC made its mark by bringing out the One X well before Samsung and LG drew brought their line of quad-core smartphones. Now HTC seems to have something even better planned  for the future. What we have here is one smartphone and one unknown device.

GLBenchmark reports of a new device, the PM63100, codenamed 'Evltare UL'. This smartphone has a quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz (may be Nvidia Tegra 3, if rumours are true) and a 720p display of unknown size. This device will have either Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean on board, and seems to be headed for AT&T. The other device boasts a 1080p display. This definitely seems to be a 'phablet' device, a combination of a phone and a tablet like the Galaxy Note.

The performance report from GLBenchmark is pretty amazing. Clocked at 1.5GHz, the HTC6435 beat the PM63100 on the GLBenchmark Egypt Offscreen 720p test by about 60 percent. The PM63100 scored 8214 frames where as the HTC6435 scored an impressive 13685 frames. On the specs sheet it includes a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. The full-HD display has a resolution of 1794 x 1080.
